Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data the Montori desktop application ("Montori," "the app") and the Montori website collect, store, and share. Montori is a local-first inventory tracker for online resellers, built and operated by an independent developer (the "Operator").

1. The short version

Your inventory data, photos, and settings stay on your PC. The Operator never sees them. They are not uploaded anywhere by the Montori app.
Gumroad (the payment processor) collects your email and payment info when you buy the app. The Operator only sees what Gumroad shows them (your email and basic order details). Gumroad's privacy policy applies to that data.
The Operator's Montori license server (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) receives only your license key + an anonymous machine ID when you activate or re-validate. No personal identifiers, no inventory data, no analytics.
No third-party tracking, analytics, ads, or telemetry are built into the app. The app does not phone home unless you explicitly activate it or it re-validates the license (~once every 30 days).

2. What data lives on YOUR computer (not seen by the Operator)

The Montori app stores all of the following locally on your machine. None of it is sent to the Operator or any third party by Montori:

Item names, SKUs, categories, prices, costs, sale records
Tax settings, deduction settings, default values
Item photos (in your photo-root folder, default %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Montori-Photos\)
App window position and UI preferences
Your license token (in browser-style localStorage)

To delete this data, uninstall Montori AND delete the data folder (default %APPDATA%\Montori\ and Documents\Montori-Photos\). The Operator has no copy and cannot access yours.

3. What the Operator's license server receives

When you activate your license OR the app re-validates (~every 30 days), the following is sent to a Cloudflare Worker controlled by the Operator:

The license server does NOT receive: your items, photos, settings, sale records, deductions, file paths, IP address (beyond Cloudflare's edge), or any inventory data.

4. What Gumroad sees when you buy

Gumroad handles your purchase entirely. The Operator does not see your credit-card details — Gumroad does. The Operator's view of your purchase, visible inside Gumroad's seller dashboard, is:

Your email (so they can send the license key + future updates)
Your billing country (for tax reporting)
Your purchase amount and date
A unique sale ID Gumroad generates

If you want your data removed from Gumroad's records, contact Gumroad directly — the Operator can't delete it on their side.

5. What the Operator does (and doesn't do) with your purchase email

Does: send your license key when you buy, reply when you email them, potentially send 1-2 emails per year if a major Montori update ships.
Does NOT: sell your email, give it to anyone else, sign you up for marketing campaigns, send promotional newsletters without consent, or use it for retargeting ads.

If you want to opt out of future update emails, reply to any email from the Operator with "unsubscribe" and they will remove you from the list.

6. Children's privacy

Montori is not directed to anyone under 13. The Operator does not knowingly collect any data from anyone under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at montoriapp.com/privacy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be revised.
